Troika International has recently released yChecker, our newest software to verify and ensure your SEGY data is up to the SEG and your own standards.
yChecker gives the capability to validate entire directories based off the Society of Exploration Geophysicists standards for SEGY rev 0 and 1. In addition, users can customize specific items within the EBCDIC headers to be validated throughout an entire SEGY project. This gives the user total confidence that a SEGY dataset is delivered at full compliance, and that all troublesome data is located early on in the ingestion process.
Secure the contents of any Seismic tape onto disk through magneto's highly accessible interface.
Magneto is built to cleverly and quickly transcribe SEG-Y data from tape onto disk. The software takes each individual SEG-Y file from the desired tape, and writes them separately and encapsulated in SEG-Y for further analysis.
Any seismic data other than SEG-Y is copied onto disk in an efficient RODE encapsulation package.

MIDI is a SEG-D field data copy system providing the necessary tools to update your SEG-D library. It has long been recommended that digital data libraries be refreshed on a regular basis, with the figure of 10 years often mentioned. MIDI provides the opportunity to input the various historic versions of SEG-D and output standard SEG-D 2.1.
The SEG-D 2.1 format was recently ratified by the SEG Technical Standards Committee to improve support for high capacity media such as the IBM3592. The main aim was to allow the recording of multiple lines on a tape by use of a line sequence number.
Troika has developed a highly efficient SEG-D copy utility within MIDI. This crucial software provides the necessary tools to standardize your entire SEG-D library and transfer data from low-density, typically 9 track, 3480/3490 or 3590 to high capacity media (such as 3592). This package embraces the new SEGD 2.1 format which records a sequence number for each seismic line within a survey so that multiple lines may be written to tape.
MIDI can be interfaced to any standard SCSI devices via IBM/Windows drivers and "off-the-shelf" controllers including:
- 9-track: 3480, 3490, 3490(E), 3590, 3592
- Exabyte: 8500,8505, 8700
Multiple drives may also be attached and run as separate job streams to increase throughput. MIDI includes support for a number of robotic devices including IBM3494 and STK9710, and also supports customized uploading of metadata to databases via XML.
A number of lists are created whilst transcription is being carried out, which may be used for quality assurance purposes, saving to disk, printout, etc. These lists include details of the data that has been read from and written to tape providing a machine-readable listing for import to a database, spread sheet for labeling, or documentation such as transmittals.
Maxim has been developed by Troika as a highly efficient Rode and Superfile creation and manipulation tool. Especially designed around the use of high capacity media, tape libraries, and robotic devices, Maxim runs on PCs running Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, XP and Vista, as well as Linux and Solaris workstations. Tape drives are accessed via standard SCSI adaptors (including adaptec/LSI/Qlogic), and with no practical block size limitation Maxim can drive high capacity tape drives at close to maximum speed. Maxim is implemented as a collection of command line tools written in object oriented C++, and presents a user friendly graphical user interface (GUI). Tape generation is controlled by XML files, which can be used to populate a client's database.
